Lost and Found

People still care. THANK GOD!!!

Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites have already become a "Lost and Found" site for people who lost their loved ones. Lately, I have been seeing people posting/sharing photos of people missing, like a senile husband/father, lost kids, missing pets. Seems like these social networking sites have a new purpose in life other than gossip, people's vanity and what not.

It's not that I don't like it. I just find it surprising that even electronically, people now are starting to care--yes, even in the comfort of their own home. Social media is a very powerful tool for people and now that it has found its new purpose, I think it's safe to say that there's still good in the worldwide web. We can actually tell people that it's not that bad--social media, I mean. It just depends on the people using it. Kinda like television back then, when parents think that TV is evil. Well, I don't think so anymore. Sick people who cannot go to churches due to their disabilities can now turn on the TV on an early Sunday morning to hear mass. Well, sans the Holy Communion, of course. Or when parents say TV is bad to kids cause you learn nothing--HELLOOOOO! Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, National Geographic, Travel and Living, and all those sorts of educational channels you see on TV. What, you don't learn anything from them?

All I'm saying is, social media has evolved now from this sites you use to befriend people, stalk your exes, trash your bosses, etc. to something that means a lot to people. It now helps us sell stuff (not just Amazon and eBay people. Yes, you can sell your things through FB too), find missing people--everything. It just needs the right person to use it so people can actually say that it's not evil.

The Pinup Look

Hi everyone! :D Sorry for keeping too long. I have been busy lately with lots of stuff. Migrating applications, pregnancy stuff, mommy duties, my brother-in-law got married and well, home stuff.

So yes, I am pregnant with my second child now (yay!!!), and am now on my 14th week of pregnancy. I have been craving for soooo many things lately that I have lost track of time and hasn't touched my blog for months now. For that I apologize.

Anyways, talk about wanting stuff, I have been totally obsessed lately with the pinup look. Since early November, when the fam's prepping for my brother-in-law's wedding, I thought of doing my own make-up and started experimenting on different looks. I had the Barbie look, rockstar glam, a simple 'do a la Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and yes, you guessed it right, the pinup girl look.

I started looking at photos of pinup girls and thought, "Hey, I think I can actually pull this off!". I browsed for those how-to-do, DIY stuff on the net so I can learn about making them Victory Rolls and stuff like that. Small steps. After a few tries, I got me a nice pair of victory rolls! :D

Now, for Christmas (yes, I'm talking to you hubby, my mom, my dad and whoever's gonna give me a Christmas gift! Haha!), I want a nice, good-quality curling iron, a nice can of hair spray and some setting lotion or hair serum of some sort to hold my hair. I think I can cover the expenses to get tons of bobbie pins. Hahaha!

In the coming days, I will be practicing to perfect my hair and make it in time for Christmas party/parties. Will post pictures about my mane adventures soon.

Til next time people. Wish me luck! :D

Planking is NOT a Crime

Hi all! So sorry if I haven't updated my blog in the past few months. Been busy with mommy duties and stuff. But anyway, I'm back. :)

So, this just in. A Quezon City (Philippines) representative by the name of Winston "Winnie" Castelo has just filed a law against planking. Well, planking especially by students. Most of you know that the Philippines is a third world country. So having that said, many people don't have the opportunity to go to school, eat three times a day, live on just one job, clothe themselves, heck get a roof to shelter them. Now there are soooo many crimes in our country--in all countries of course. But he's more focused on banning plankers in the country than protect people from robbers, killers, rapists, corrupt public officials and all those sorts. Funny how he's put those plankers on top of his priorities than well, you know what I mean.

It's so funny how narrow people's mind are as far as having fun goes. It's funny how students could run around naked, with their privates dangling in all it's glory and he'd be fine with it. But planking to be made illegal? What a shame!

If only he's like Prime Minister Dunne (New Zealand), who couldn't care less about planking. Or Thailand's Chuwit Kamolvisit whose just in it for fun as others are.

Seriously, I am not in favor of this whether I plank or not. Let's focus on more important things like foreign policy, peace talks, poverty and education than dwell on this, 'kay?

Oh and please, do us a favor, Quezon City. DO NOT RE-ELECT STUPID POLITICIANS LIKE HIM. Thank you.

Enough with "THE END IS NEAR" Crap!!!

So they say it's coming. They say it's the end of the world on May 21, 2011 as per calculations based on some numbers in the Holy Bible. Or that it would be on 2012 based on the Mayan calendar. Well, here's what I think...

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, BUT ONLY THE FATHER."--Mark 13:32

You know the Bible, right? The one you got all those numbers from to make all those "calculations"... Did you forgot that WORD FROM HIM? Have you left out that part on purpose as some sort of selective memory? STOP IT PEOPLE. You're just making others panic/think too much for something God only knows when. SHUT IT!

Oh and whether it is almost the end or not, the fact is, it doesn't matter which religion, race, country or wherever corner we are from, if it is His will, then so be it. As long as you have been a good person, then that's it. We only have ONE God. He may be in the form of God Almighty, Jesus, Allah, Yahweh, Buddha, etc (I dunno that much names, sorry). As long as you believe in Him and that you have been a good servant of Him in His eyes and in the eyes of others, then you may be saved. I'm not saying I will be. I know I'm one pain in the ass for some people I know. But what the heck. Just quit it. I hate people saying that the end is near and blah blah blah. It's absolutely tiring and, mind you, really annoying. I say, SHUT IT and just stay wherever you are and STOP blabbering about the end of the world.

Thank you.

Human Torch Extinguished: The death of Johnny Storm

Many people--especially the comic book fanatics of the world were shocked upon hearing the news that one-fourth of Marvel's The Fantastic Four has died. On FF#587 the Human Torch apparently dies stopping a group of monsters, trying to save his nephew, niece and BFF, The Thing so they could the Negative Zone.

Will he be resurrected a la DC's Superman? We'll never know.

As per his makers, Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, the coming issue (which apparently is the last) will be focusing on the remaining 3 members of the group marching on as they mourn for the loss of their own Johnny boy.

“The next issue of FANTASTIC FOUR, the last one, #558, follows the rest of the team through the month following Johnny’s death. Lots of things happen in that issue that not only cover how each of the family members are being affected, but also hints at the massive events right around the corner... This is not an ending.”

Speculations of Spidey replacing Johnny Storm is running rampantly all over the web. Is this for real? Only one way to find out, Flame--er, READ ON!!!

Manny Pacquiao on MTV Cribs

Talk about Pinoy pride!

Just recently, our very own Manny Pacquiao was featured on MTV Cribs. Not really a fan of him, but the fact that Pacquiao got himself to where he is right now, makes me happy for him. And to be seen on MTV Cribs just puts you on a total rock star status.

Congratulations MP!

Swift---er Lavigne for Vanity Fair

No, this is not Taylor Swift. Avril Lavigne poses for Vanity Fair Magazine (Italy). She ditches her rocker look for some sexy frocks, heels and girly make-up to promote her new album "Goodbye Lullabye".

Still looks like Taylor Swift to me! Just sayin.

Both her magazine feature in Vanity Fair and album will be out this March.
