SHOCKING! Glee to Bid "Buh-Bye" After Season Six

It's official. Ryan Murphy has just announced that Glee will end by next year.

After that very tearful Cory/Finn farewell tribute episode, Glee creator Ryan Murphy and team have decided that Glee's endgame will be at the end of their sixth season. Originally, the creators had planned that this season is suppose to be a season for Finchel. But due to Cory's untimely demise, we were all left with a big question: What's next?

Murphy confirmed that it was Cory's death that has decided for them to can no longer continue the series as it is now not the way they wanted it to end. That it has forced him to rework the series' ending.

"The whole [last] year of the show--which will be next year-- was really designed around Rachel-Cory/Finn story. I always knew that. I always knew how it would end," Murphy declared to reporters at the Paley Center event for FX network last Wednesday in LA. "I always knew what the last shot was--he was in it. I knew what the last line was; she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens, you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do."

Ryan continued. "I have a good idea. I'm going to tell the studio and the network [in a week] how after Cory's unfortunate passing, we can end the show that I think is very satisfactory. And kind of in his honor, which I love."

He admitted that while music in Glee still goes on, "it's been hard everyday" on everybody as the glue of their show's dynamic was so abruptly taken away from them.

Although Glee was renewed for a couple more seasons after the 4th season, the show has been painfully stagnant and has been gradually dropping their ratings--except for "The Quarterback" (Finn/Cory tribute episode), which has raked 75% more than the previous week. Ryan Murphy originally see the show end by the 8th season, but due to some "abrupt changes" in the line up, both FOX president Kevin Reilly and Glee creator himself, Ryan Murphy can't see the show go on past the 6th season.

My guess is that Glee ends with Rachel geting her New York dream, though with the shadow of Finn still hanging over her. Finn's stepbrother, Kurt, gets his shot at broadway as well. Santana lands herself a showbiz career, the Schuesters--Will and Emma will get their happily ever after, while the rest of the McKinley kids graduate and sing their hearts out into the sunset. Although I can barely figure out what's gonna happen with Sue, Figgins and Coach Beiste.

Anyhoos, you can still enjoy Glee while it lasts on FOX (United States), GlobalTV (Canada), JackTV and ETC (Philippines), etc.

Cheerio!
