Trouble in Paradise? Bones S08E02 Recap

Two drunk homeless men talking about the economy, when they found a burning corpse. Booth and Bones are called by the Jeffersonian, while having an awkward morning in the kitchen (and we get to see Bones gettin' all domestic!), to investigate on the burnt corpse.

At the crime scene, Booth discovers from Brennan how she and Christine were while on the run. He found out that Temperance and Christine once slept under a bridge. While investigating on the corpse, Bones quickly concluded that the case is of a body dump. She says she's been a fugitive for months and based on her experience, she concluded such. Booth disagrees and says that he's been a special agent for years now and that Bones should let him think about that, and instead just stick to the scientific investigations. (Do I smell fight?)

At the lab, we find that intern Mr. Abernathy is back. He is seen working with Dr. Saroyan, looking at the victim's remains. Unfortunately for Abernathy, who just says he's more of the "bones kind of fella", got a little queasy because of the burnt victim's "barbecued" body. They have found out that the heart has been on surgery and that they can trace the victim's identity by checking on its serial number.

Now back to Booth, he's seen at a shooting range and Sweets noticed that he's not his usual self. He also has heard of the earlier tension at the crime scene between him and Brennan and wanted to use his shrink juju on him. Booth confides to Sweets that he's still angry about the fact that Bones left him, with Christine, for three months and then when she came back, she came all different, even cooking breakfast. You see, for Booth, cooking breakfast is his thing since they started living together. Bones taking that away from him made him pissed because ever since, this was their morning routine and is upset that everything has changed since she and Christine came back from hiding. Sweets made Booth realize that all those times that Bones and Christine were out, he can never bring them back, to which Booth replied that, "You can't un-ring the bell".

Back to the victim, it turns out he's a white shoe divorce lawyer. He's a ruthless divorce lawyer for rich people. A few suspects were interrogated--from his old client who fed him RAT burger for 2 years and counting, his secretary and wife's mistress, and his clients from an ugly divorce who suddenly got back
preceding the victim's death. As it turns out, the wife stabbed him in the neck with a fountain pen, threw him down the construction's garbage chute. The couple killed him after being screwed upon seeing their  pretty huge bill and conspired to kill and dump the victim somewhere, and then burnt afterwards.

Now back to Booth and Brennan, they eventually talked at the lab and politely apologized to each other. Abernathy notices it and asked Brennan if that was their way of making it up to each other. Brennan wonders and asks him back as to why such question. Abernathy told her that when he was younger, whenever his mother and stepfather would politely apologize to each other, all hell will soon break lose. So Brennan consulted Sweets after work acknowledging her problem. When she got home, she spoke to Booth and told him that she know that something's wrong with her. She wanted to make up for it by letting him bring Christine to ride the carousel on the weekend, even though she knew that the child might not like it based on their experience with it when Brennan brought her to one while they were on hiding. Bones and Booth kiss and made up and promised each other to never again do such thing to each other.

This episode has been dedicated by the cast and crew of Bones to their dear friend, and veteran actor, Michael Clarke Duncan.
