Live in New York, the Brits are here!!! - SNL Daniel Craig/Muse

Who would have thought Mr. 007 could be not serious??? This week, THE James Bond, Daniel Craig graces the SNL Studios to guest host Saturday Night Live. Well, I know people will have mixed reviews on this one. I have mixed feelings myself! Some of them are funny, while some are so-so. But hey, he's not a comedian, so I guess that's forgivable.

Cold Open: Presidential Debate

SNL, with the coming elections, will not be complete without spoofing the recent Presidential Debate. Jason Sudeikis and Jay Pharaoh reprises their roles as Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, respectively, facing off at the Denver Debate. This sketch "explains" why Obama lost to Romney at Denver. I mean, who wouldn't get distracted with the thought of forgetting the anniversary gift right??? Oh and the altitude, air's getting pretty thin, Obama got stuck at the podium.

Monologue

Daniel Craig's monologue showcases an "In Memoriam" tribute to all those he had killed at the movies--from James Bond, Cowboys vs Aliens, The Adventures of Tintin, etc. The tribute features a montage of how he killed them and some of them, he explains why. He complains about the fog, though. Yep, a bit too much. Looks like we know who's next! Lols

Anyhoos, Daniel Craig transformed from a dashing 007 Bond hottie to a construction worker with a heckling problem, Long Island Medium's Larry Caputo, an astronaut, a depressed working class guy and a loving boyfriend (to a she-man aka Fred Armisen).

Here are the highlights of SNL's October 6 episode:

The Less Known Bond Girls

Since it's James Bond's 50th celebration, SNL also did a sketch on it to introduce to the world the "Lesser Known Bond Girls". It shows Diane Keaton (Vanessa Bayer) from 1973 Bond film, "Never Die Twice Tomorrow", Jodie Foster (Kate McKinnon) in "Kill Me Once, Shame on You" from 1979, Lea Michele (Nasim Pedrad) from 2010's Hippopotopussy", Molly Ringwald (Vanessa Bayer) in "The Man Who was a Gun" (1984), Ellen DeGeneres (Kate McKinnon) in Honey, I Killed the Spy" (1989), and Penny Marshall (Fred Armisen) in "Quantum of Leap" (2010).

I See Dead People... And Squirrel.

Long Island Medium is here!!! Kate McKinnon stars as Theresa Caputo. It's really funny how she seemed to roam the whole of Long Island and all the people she sees, she talks to them about their dead relatives. Creepy eh? The sketch introduces us to Victoria Caputo (Vanessa Bayer) and hubby Larry Caputo (Daniel Craig). Credits due to Caputo's goatee and the squirrel at the picnic!

The Kitty Kat

Captain (Daniel Craig), along with Wazowsky (Taran Killam), McReedy (Keenan Thomson), Ramirez (Cecily Strong) and Bobby Moynihan were sent to space en route to Mars. They recall the things that they miss on Earth when a homesick Kirby tells how he misses his pet cat. At the end of the scene, he reveals that he "told a little fib". Turns out, he brought his cat along in the space mission.

The Weekend Update with Seth Meyers

No SNL episode is complete without The Weekend Update. This week, Seth discusses the Presidential Debate, the debate's winners and losers, PBS getting axed by Romney, Ah-nold Schwarzenegger, etc. Big Bird drops in to express his views on Romney taking down PBS. LOL'ed on Big Bird yawning because "it's 7 hours past his bedtime".

Also joining weekend update is Cecilia Giminez, the Spanish woman who "restored" Ecce Homo. She explains how Jesus has given her permission, when he came to her in a dream. How her painting seems more accurate than the others. She also made an "accurate" painting of Seth Meyers' face. Unfortunately, she sees most things differently...

Working Class Drama

Daniel Craig also appears in a sketch about a working class drama, "A Sorry Lot We Are". It shows friends, Craig, Hader and Moynihan talking about their lives. Seems like the men have been in a string of bad luck. Danny (Craig) has lost his job for so many times and has finally found a new one... at the Olympics. Since the Olympics has already ended, it seems that he's jobless yet again. His friend lost his mom a few days back and the other one seems like a pedophile.

The Loving Couple

Okay, I just gotta say, I didn't like this sketch that much. Though Fred Armisen's Regine seems like a character, the rest of the plot is well, uhm... Yea. It just seems kinda gross, creepy and not funny the sketch turned out. Don't get me wrong, Fred Armisen appearing as a girl seems like a real laugh, but I think putting Craig in the scene made it seem... odd.

Other notable political sketches this episode includes "Three Days Later: A Look Back at the Obama Debate Disaster" and "The Undecided Voter".

Muse performs "Madness" and "Panic Station as musical guests. I have no words to describe it but awesome. Call me biased, being a Muse fan and all. But really, Kate Hudson's a really lucky woman. That Matt Belamy's voice is just... heaven! Two thumbs up.

***Next week, October 13, SNL will be having Up All Night's Christina Applegate as host and musical guest, Passion Pit.
